Due to COVID-19 my school just announced only essential personnel are allowed on campus. My public defense is now going to be a live stream and my private is going to be a virtual meeting. It has been very frustrating dealing with all these changes in policy and meetings just a few days before defending. It was heartbreaking to email my friends and family that they couldn't come to my defense anymore and there will be no celebration due to social distancing. I was looking forward to celebrating. But at least my defense isn't being cancelled and I'll still graduate this semester.
Now that I have to lead my first virtual meeting when the stakes are pretty high, does anyone have any advice? Are there things you do differently when preparing slides for an online presentation vs in person? Do you talk about things differently? I welcome any tips or tricks you may have.
