Zika Research and Research Budget Priorities

Thomas Frieden the outgoing director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that the fight against the Zika virus, and other communicable diseases, is far from over.

Reuters reports that Frieden hopes that congress will approve the proposed Rapid Reseve Fund. Given the budget uncertainties with the incoming congress, Frieden’s concerns seem warranted. What do you think?
