I am glad to announce about establishing a scientific research neuromodulation and neuroimaging laboratory at neurology department - faculty of medicine - Ain Shams University - Cairo - Egypt …

the Neuromodulation Lab is one of a kind in Egypt, whole Africa and its over all content make it one of a kind in the Arab world.

As it contains repetitive trans-cranial magnetic simulator with identical active and placebo coil for binding, a neuro navigation system which enables online coil and head tracking for accurate image guided placement of the coil, smart move system for robot assisted trans-cranial magnetic stimulation … The robot ensures highly accurate positioning of the coil as well as motion compensation for high repeat ability of sessions.

Evoke stimulus presentation system for designing complex visual, auditory or mixed stimuli scenarios. High density EEG, event related potential capturing and source analysis.

Trans-cranial direct current stimulation with 4 X 1 channel high definition adapter, and last but not least multiple computers for neuroimaging analysis and a storage server with several software analysis programs.

All these equipment within one lab dedicated for scientific research and hopefully adding new avenues to the scientific community worldwide.

one of the Lab main aims and goals is to significantly impact the understanding of brain functions in health and disease and open up unprecedented avenues for clinical research and practice in the Arab region and Africa.

the lab is currently working in multiple projects regarding event related potentials in diseased as well as healthy brains in volunteers … the lab staff also is pleased to inform the scientific community world wide about the presence of such kind of research within Egypt and Africa and is willing to participate in any upcoming multi-center research.

we also are arranging to establish the lab website, but for now we are connecting with the scientific community through a social media page on facebook with extension asu.neuromodulation
