Deborah Zelinsky
Can’t wait until SFN! My new research has been fascinating. There are so many posters and presentations regarding new developments and discoveries in retinal function, but none that I’ve seen showing how eyeglasses affect retinal function. The lenses can be customized to selectively stimulate various portions of the retina. The retina is mapped with a one to one correspondence to the visual cortex. However, there are many thousands of signals which are not routed to the visual cortex. Those signals have an effect on body chemistry and posture – via hypothalamic and brainstem pathways. Karen_Lankford
This is not my area of research but it is very interesting to me. However, you did not indicate the presentation number or your name so that I could find it.
