Michael Oberdorfer
An article in Nature raises the idea of establishing an animal registry for animal-based research. Advocates for the idea note that the details for one third to one half of all animal studies are never published, and often the experimental details of published studies are not described as well as they could be. Advocates for the idea say that a registry, which is more common in other research disciplines, would improve the reliability of research protocols, reduce bias along with other benefits for animal-based studies.
