So sorry to hear this. I do feel special having shared the same space with this eminent scientist at a poster presentation. What a remarkable human being. So intelligent yet still so curious to hear about my findings and what a gentleman. I have admired his work and accomplishments for decades. Worldwide people have benefitted from his discoveries.

Dear Michael

Thank you for sharing the sad news about Paul Greengard’s passing

Peggy and I met him when we were at Columbia’s P and S with Heinrich Waelsch

Kept contact with him over the years and saw him at Army projects

He had a wonderful wry sense of humor

Made major contributions to the neurosciences

May his spirit be in peace

Steve

Steve,
Thanks for echoing my comments. My experiences with Paul G. were few but similar.
He was one of a kind.
BTW, how are you doing? It’s been a long time since I’ve heard from you.

Steve,

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. Carol and I were traveling to San Francisco where we are moving from the East to be closer to our son Peter and his family. Needless to say it’s been hectic.

I’ll get back to you with more news later.

Again, great to hear from you,

Mike Oberdorfer
