Funding Bill Increases NIH Budget

Over the weekend, it appeared that the leadership of the House and the Senate have reached an agreement on a bill to keep the government open for the remainder of FY 2017. The bill includes a two billion dollar increase for the NIH budget, as well as increases in funding for the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration among other measures.

The bill has bipartisan support and avoids a costly government shutdown. If you’re interested, the full text can be found here.
